As I said before, the majority of Battlefield games have received 16+/M ratings without having any scenes of dismemberment. The fact that BF4 has an instance of dismemberment in it is therefore not notable, as it ultimately did not result in a different rating.

The main problem is that, as most aircraft can get specializations that increase the damage of forward-facing guns, planes without the upgrades are severely outclassed. While targeting vehicle components (wings/elevator/rudder/engine) does award bonus damage when they are destroyed, aiming for these specific areas in a dogfight may be difficult.
