Because they don't have to? :)
A bit more serious answer, at first developers want to focus on early stage of war or lesser known battles. Surely this has changed by the time after Chapter 4 with Operation Underground (set in 1945) and Iwo Jima (very well known) but the content support end after Chapter 6 so we don't get anything more of famous battles.
1st is what @Lamicrosz said
2nd is that it will be hella hard to balance as after the beach theres a pretty steep hill which would cause trouble for the allies to even remotely able to have a good position
Then you ask, well the allies in ww2 won that battle, well its because in ww2 they literally send 31223bajillion people there and imagine that with only 32 people, yes they can respawn but theres still a lack of people
Agreed, also most of ww2 game added Normandy and late war map in either PvP/PvE. and because of it, we can say battlefield is taking a unique turn from majorities of ww2 game, being focused on early to late war map
The main subject to blame would probably be 2042's disastrous development. DICE needed all the help for 2042 or it might not even be marketable by 2021, so bfv and star wars' future updates were axed for the reason. Within the cancelled plans were supposedly a whole soviet chapter(proven by unused assets) and a US vs German chapter that probably got repurposed to the summer update we got. I wouldn't be surprised if Normandy was originally part of those plans
Wouldnt it be cool if theres like berlin stuff in bfv
Straight Cool, but we still got Operation Underground and Devastation which the vibes of the map were very similar to Battle of Berlin
@InfiniEA Don't blame DICE for all of these changes, sometimes EA is at fault too. EA is the one who enforces very strict guidelines. Not DICE.
Because... They didn't have the time.
Yup! That's right! I'm not a "EA BAD!!!!! DICE GOOD!!!" because as a Plants VS Zombies fan, I like what they did with Garden Warfare 1 + 2 and a little bit of BFN. Yes, I have played Battlefield 1.
But with EA shitting on DICE for doing their job, hey, maybe expect NO UPDATES. Like what Activision does with COD, anyone "threatens" to update old Call of Duties, well somebody is gonna get axed. And yes, I believe "Battlefield will be a COD killer" is a really stupid statement, both games are good in a sense.
SO, It's not DICE'S fault, it's EA's.
What do you think?
