When the second game appeared, players finally noticed and protested because they know how WW2 should look like, contrary to WW1. And it is a worse game in general.
Storywise, there is no continuation in V but both campaigns are equally stupid. If you are looking for a "spiritual successor", try Call of Duty: Vanguard.
