The 1st Reconnaissance Battalion is a reconnaissance battalion in the United States Marine Corps. It falls under the command of the 1st Marine Division. The battalion appears in Battlefield 3.

The 1st Recon Battalion first appears in Operation Swordbreaker, the player takes the role of Staff Sergeant Henry "Black" Blackburn, a member of the battalion. On most missions as Blackburn, the battalion is also featured. Exceptions are Semper Fidelis and The Great Destroyer.
