The 60mm Mortar Weapon Pod appears in Battlefield 2042 as a specialization option for main battle tanks and IFVs.
The pod gunner aboard heavy armored vehicles may fire a single 60mm mortar round, dealing significant damage to armored targets. The wide splash area is also dangerous to infantry. The high damage output is offset by the pod's long reload and difficulty of use at mid-long ranges.
Though capable of high-arcing shots, there is no mortar aiming aid as in past titles (from Battlefield 3 onward).
