Galil ace 23

The Galil ACE 23 variant in real life.

The Galil ACE is an assault rifle developed by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) and manufactured by IWI and also FAMAE and Indumil. The ACE family assault rifles are based upon the reliable mechanism of the famous Galil assault rifle.

The ACE 23 is the primary Assault rifle variant of the family, chambering 5.56 x 45mm NATO like the ACE 22 and ACE 21, but sporting a barrel length of 460mm.

Battlefield 4[]

Singleplayer[]

Multiplayer[]

The ACE 23 is available to the Assault kit upon completing the Assault Expert gold tier assignment. The ACE 23 sits as the "alongside the M416 and L85A2 as faster firing assault rifles that act as versatile weapons suited for close-mid ranged encounters.

The versatility of the ACE is not to be underestimated. It is able to perform well up close and at long range without many drawbacks.

Firing at a rate of 770 RPM, the ACE 23 is fast enough to be able to compete against the PDWs and carbines in close quarters, while still being slow enough to be controllable. It is the fourth fastest of the ARs, which makes it competitive enough to perform well up close. Another advantage it has over the M416 and L85A2, both similarly performing weapons, is that it has a slightly larger magazine, at 35+1 compared to the 30+1 of its contemporaries. It reloads this slower than the M416's 1.8 seconds but slightly faster than the L85A2's 2.4 seconds.

Aside from that, the ACE 23 is very average. It's other stats, including recoil, spread, velocity, etc. is basically right in between every other assault rifle. This "jack-of-all-trades" style is great at performing at any range, but there are also more specialized picks for more specific scenarios. In essence, the ACE is a very reliable platform to frag on any map.

The recoil, as mentioned earlier, is pretty average. The recoil will drift the barrel up and to the right. COuntering this is easy, but the first shot recoil multiplier of the ACE 23 is the third highest of the rifles, sitting at 2.25x, meaning tap firing or bursting the weapon at range may be more uncomfortable than other guns.

By obtaining kills with the ACE 23, the player unlocks Chinese attachments, while the US and Russian variants can only be unlocked through Battlepacks.

The addition of stability-enhancing attachments such as the Muzzle Brake coupled with the Stubby Grip or using the Angled Grip with a Heavy Barrel greatly extend the weapon's already decent effectiveness beyond close and mid-ranges even further. Notably, the ACE 23 cannot equip any underbarrel attachments.

Trivia[]

  • The length of the ACE 23's barrel in its menu icon is significantly shorter than its in-game appearance, more closely resembling the barrel length ACE 22 as opposed to the ACE 23.
