Assignments are challenges featured in Battlefield 1. They were first introduced in the They Shall Not Pass expansion in the form of weapon assignments. Similar to past installments, players must complete specific tasks in order to be awarded the respective weapon. In addition to weapon assignments, the In the Name of the Tsar expansion also introduced Service Assignments which award class Specializations upon completion of tasks, the Apocalypse expansion introduced new group of Service Assignments which award Dog Tag.
