Battlefield 2042 is the upcoming seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series developed by DICE and published by EA. The game was revealed on June 9th, 2021 and gameplay will be shown on June 13th, 2021.[3] The game is set to release on October 15th, 2021 for EA Play member and those who purchase Gold and Ultimate Edition and on October 22nd, 2021 for everyone.

Classes

Development

The game was confirmed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson in an investor call on October 29, 2019. Nothing else is currently known about the game except that it will be available and take full advantage of next-generation consoles and will be driven by live service offerings. Additionally, it will see major innovations in multiplayer, social, and competition aspects that are new to the franchise.[4]

The game has been describe to take everything to next level, including scale, millitary warfare, unexpected moments, destruction and massive battles with more players and mayhem than ever before.

On June 4th, 2021, Official Battlefield Twitter account sent a message to bunch of gaming content creator through Direct Message with a distorted text at different section per images.[5]

On June 5th, 2021, Several players in community got a short teaser videos with the title "Emergency Broadcast".[6]
