This section contains spoilers for Battlefield 2042.

During the events of Battlefield 2042 - Exodus Short Film, a No-Pat arrives under orders from the mastermind Oz to receive an intel drop. Before the drop can be made, the intel handler is killed by an ambusher, who in turn is wounded by the No-Pat. The ambusher is revealed to be Clayton Pakowski, and taken back to the MFS-04 Exodus as a prisoner by the No-Pat agent, who himself is revealed to be Irish.

Aboard the Exodus, Pac berates Irish for betraying the United States. Irish retorts that his allegiance is now with the refugees aboard his ship, including his young son, Omar, and Pac himself despite being prisoner. Pac warns Irish that Oz has ulterior motives.

Irish's second-in-command, Navin Rao, has already examined the intel, and confirms that Oz plans to retrieve a US military offensive satellite calculated to land near Doha, Qatar. Oz has dispatched an airborne team to rendezvous with the Exodus and retrieve the intel. Irish realizes Pac's intuition is correct, and orders the vulnerable Exodus into an approaching storm.

The approaching MV38-Condors turn aggressive, opening fire on the ship and deploying troops on deck. They are quickly engaged by Irish's task force, and lose two of their Condors in the storm. The ship's company struggles with the severe weather and the ongoing assault. The third Condor manages to pin Irish in the open, forcing him to surrender the intel and watch his son die. Before Oz's agent can commit the murder, he is slain by Pac, who was freed by Kayvan Bechir. The Condor retaliates against Pac, but is struck down by an FXM-33 AA Missile fired by Irish.

Irish retrieves his old squadmate's dogtag, and breaks off relations with Oz. The Exodus continues on towards Doha to secure the remains of the satellite weapon, and openly challenges other No-Pats to join them in the upcoming struggle.

  • The confirmed survival of both Irish and Pac place the events of Battlefield 2042 in the same timeline as Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, as well as suggest that the canonical ending of Battlefield 4's campaign is the player choosing Hannah to sacrifice herself, although her outright death is still unconfirmed.
  • Part 8 of Journey of the No-Pats blog presents the events of the film from the perspective the blog's main character Kayvan Bechir, where it is explained that Bechir frees Pac from the medical bay during Oz's attack.
  • The subtitles of the film spell Pakowski's nickname as "Pak".
  • Around 4:12, Rao shows Irish the trajectory of satellite SHEARWATER_1. Other named satellites in the clip contain various easter eggs:
    • "ПРОТЕИН_БАР" transliterated from Cyrillic spells "PROTEIN BAR"
    • "CAIPIRINHA_112" refers to Brazil's national drink
    • "HONGSHAO_r0U" refers to Red Braised Pork Belly (Hóngshāo ròu 红烧肉), a Chinese dish
    • "PICK13_RYCK" references Pickle Rick from the American cartoon Rick and Morty
