Battlefield 4: Operations is a series of free content released for Battlefield 4 following the release of the Final Stand expansion pack.

Synopsis[]

While the Final Stand expansion was originally supposed to be the last expansion pack released for Battlefield 4, DICE Los Angeles, who had taken over further development of Battlefield 4 from DICE Stockholm, later confirmed that they would still support the game following the release of Battlefield Hardline. It was later announced soon afterward that all future downloadable content for Battlefield 4 would be free for all players.

The Weapons Crate Pack, the first pack of new content, was released on May 26, 2015, and included five new weapons and reintroduced the Gun Master gamemode from Battlefield 3. Later in the Summer, the Night Operations and Community Operations map packs were released, introducing Zavod: Graveyard Shift, the community designed Operation Outbreak maps, and Dragon Valley 2015 in Legacy Operations was the last pack released on December 15, 2015.

All of the released content from Operations was first tested on the Community Test Environment. Two more night maps, Infiltration of Shanghai and an unnamed night version of Golmud Railway never went to retail version of Battlefield 4.
