Clothing customization in Battlefield Heroes

Customization in Battlefield Heroes allows players to customize the appearance of their character. A character is created by first choosing one of the three available classes: Gunner, Commando, Soldier. Afterwards players may customize their skin tone, hair color, hair style, and facial hair.

Clothing may be earned or purchased with Play4Free Funds (formery Battlefunds) and Valor Points to allow players to customize their appearance beyond the default options for both the Royal Army and National Army. Up to ten clothing slots are available for each character. Emotes, Abilities, Widgets, and weapon loadout are also able to be customized for each character once earned or purchased.

Also available for customization is the character's name, which requires a purchase costing 5,898 to change after the initial naming of the character. Several deals throughout the game's lifespan have dropped the price to 4,099 and 2,949 respectively.

The Michael Jackson sets were released on July 1st, 2009 as an homage to his death. Both sets were released for free to all players for the duration of July 2009, and are based off of the outfits seen in the Smooth Criminal and Bad music videos.

The Football Fiesta 2010 cosmetics are football war paints and medals released on June 1st, 2010 for the Football Fiesta 2010 update in celebration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It featured many country themed war paints and three new medals given to players who supported the respective first (Spain), second (Netherlands) and third (Germany) place winners. Selecting the correct championship war paint (Spain) earned the player a Golden weapon. As the event progressed, war paints became gradually more expensive. Eight emotes and three widgets were also released weekly.

The Christmas 2010 cosmetics are Christmas themed items released over the month of December, for the Christmas 2010 update. It featured a new set per team, as well as several extra cosmetics. Several cosmetic items and sets from the Winter Armistice update were re-released during this update.

Purchases of the Santa's Holiday set and Nikolaus' Wintry set contributed to a charity fund for Child's Play. The return of the Christmas hats released during the Winter Armistice update rendered two purchasing types for the sets - one with the hat, and one without the hat.

The Football Fiesta 2012 cosmetics are football war paints and jerseys released in June 2012 for the Football Fiesta 2012 update in celebration of UEFA Euro 2012.
