The Breda PG (Italian: Presa Gas, Gas Operated) was a prototype open-bolt, magazine-fed automatic rifle developed in Italy and produced between 1935 and 1937. The weapon is notable for being one of the first production firearms capable of burst-fire, as the user could select between semi-automatic and a four-round burst. A small number of weapons were purchased for trials by the Royal Italian Army, however these omitted the burst fire mode. The only other known buyer of the Breda PG was Costa Rica.[1]
