"I never imagined this day would come." O'Higgins said.
"That the war would come to our home?" Morales asked.
"That we would be side by side when it did."
A somber weight hung to the air. Coalition forces were an hour out. Morales looked over the soldiers: GDP, Brotherhood uncertainty clung to them.
Morales handed an AK 5C to O'Higgins. "This is our fight. I can't change the past, maybe we can make a better future."
