Burning Bridges is the tenth mission in Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.
Description
That's metal that won't be getting in our way again! Okay, listen up - we're expanding our control in the area and you'll now carry out a fixed-position demolition raid on this bridge. Hostile units estimated at company strength are dug into defensive positions on both sides of the structure. Don't try to hold the bridge. Drop it into the water and take up positions on the far side. Use your C4 on the load-bearing support beams. Any hostile forces you neutralize are a bonus, the bridge is your primary objective.
Synopsis
In this mission, the player has to guide a group of NATO Special Forces and Sniper soldiers to a Chinese-held bridge in the Almaty Region. The player starts of in a courtyard before proceeding to the bridge. The bridge is heavily guarded by the PLA. When the bridge towers are cleared, the player moves on to the bridge. Browning machine guns are helpful when attacking the defending PLA soldiers. The player must then plant C4 on the bridge's support beams. when all the charges have been planted, the player must get of the bridge before it blows. When the player gets off the bridge, the mission is complete.
Stars
To achieve a full 10-star rating, the player will need to complete the following milestones by the end of the mission:
- Score: 120,000 points or more
- Time: Completion in under five minutes
- Style/Weapon Use (amount of hot-swapping): Expert (about 10 hot-swaps)
- Accuracy: Greater than 55% shots hit
- Losses: Less than 10 soldiers on the player's team died
