An Armored Fighting Vehicle (AFV)—or simply armor—is an armed combat vehicle protected by armor, generally combining operational mobility with tactical offensive and defensive capabilities.
Though not an official classification of vehicles in the Battlefield series, there are many examples of ground vehicles equipped with heavy weapons and protected by heavy armor (effective against heavy machine guns) not otherwise covered in their own sections.
