Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment Canada, more commonly known as DICE Canada, was a video game developer and a subsidiary of DICE. The studio was stationed in London, Ontario until DICE's acquisition by Electronic Arts in 2006. DICE Canada was headed by Fredrik Liliegren, a co-founder of DICE.

History[]

Originally known as Sandbox Studios, the developer was founded in 1998 by former employees of Utopia Technologies. In 2001, the studio was acquired by DICE and subsequently renamed DICE Canada. The studio was responsible for developing Battlefield Vietnam as well as all of the expansions and booster packs for Battlefield 2.

Following DICE's acquisition by EA in late 2006, DICE Canada was immediately disbanded. Liliegren and other former members of the studio went to form RedJade studios, who helped in the development of Battlefield: Bad Company.
