The Dark Market is a Non-Patriated contraband organization as seen in the backstory of the same name in the official website of Battlefield 2042.
Background[]
The Dark Market is a Non-Patriated contraband organization which rose to influence particularly during the 2030s when the European Union is suddenly torn into pieces due to a large wildfire which basically began in Central Latvia in 2028. However, during the Blackout of 2040, they rose to become a multinational empire. They definitely became the de facto organization for the acquisition of all unlawful products and services, including weapons, military hardware, intelligence, and personnel, as a neutral third party with a non-satellite reliant communication network.
They are led by a Non-Patriated Council who is composed of "The Jaguar" who is a gunrunner, "The Sparrow" who oversees intelligence trading, and "The Dragon" who is an overseer of the mercenaries and armies' sales.
Purpose[]
The Dark Market is believed to be a vindictive organization. In retaliation to a Decade of Chaos, their Non-Patriated Council is willing to recriminate against the world powers they think were exploited and left them as their nations fell apart. They repurpose intelligence to build discord inside governments and set desperate nations against one another in proxy wars, supporting each side as the crisis intensifies. They have their own private militia which is known as The Liquidators who fought in the battle of Black Ridge. However, their true military strength remains unknown at this time.
