DBNO (Down But Not Out) is a mechanic featured in Battlefield V’s Firestorm battle royal mode.

Entering and Mechanics

When a player’s health reaches 0 (see exceptions below), the player will enter the DBNO state. While in DBNO, a players movement is slowed to a crawl, and the player will only have access to their sidearm, or, if the player doesn’t have a sidearm, they will only have their melee weapon. The player is unable to aim down sights and the fire rate and reload time is slowed drastically *(requires more testing)

Death and Reviving

While in DBNO, the player will have 150 health points. If depleted, the player will be permanently eliminated from the game, and all of their items will be spread out on the ground. The player will also slowly bleed out over time. Teammates and the downed player can see the bleed out timer in the form of circle, similar to the multiplayer. A player in DBNO can be revived by their teammates, although both players should be cautious as they are very vulnerable; they aren’t unable to look around, shoot, move, and the revive takes some time.

Exceptions

Player will not be downed if:

-They are playing in a solo mode

-They are the last one alive

-They are run over by a vehicle *(needs more testing)
