— In-Game Description
Dynamite is a gadget featured in Battlefield 1.
Singleplayer[]
— Campaign Hint
Dynamite appears in the singleplayer campaign in Weapon Crates. It has a very high damage, and one pack of dynamite is enough to destroy a vehicle. In addition, they can be used to destroy emplaced weapons such as field guns, artillery batteries, and AA batteries.
Deploying a pack of dynamite within a short distance of nearby enemies can alert them during stealth, and they will investigate the location of the dynamite. If no dynamite has been deployed, using the detonator within a short distance of enemies, can also alert them and will prompt an enemy to investigate your current position, acting similarly to using a lure.
Multiplayer[]
The Assault kit can place up to three packs of dynamite at a time. Unlike in Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam or C4 seen in other installments, dynamite does not stick to surfaces. As such it makes it much harder to attack enemy vehicles and thereby requires players to use it wisely. It has lower damage than singleplayer, and it is impossible to destroy a vehicle in one pass.
Compared to other assault gadgets, dynamite deals very high damage, with the blast often enough to kill multiple enemies caught in the radius. However, it is very short range and risky to use. Dynamite is most effective when tossed into doorways or around corners, minimizing the user's exposure to enemy fire.
Using the detonator will trigger all currently placed packs of dynamite by default, however the Controlled Demolition specialisation avaliable to the Assault class, will instead allow triggering each placed pack of dynamite individually, in order of placement.
