End of the Line is the sixteenth mission in the singleplayer campaign of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.

Description[]

Now that we have liberated the villages, we must protect our assets in the area. Our primary line of communication is the railroad station in the Central Village. Enemy forces are heading our way, at speed. They cannot take the station. Destroy the supporting forces. Do your duty for your country, soldier.

Synopsis[]

In this mission, the player plays from the viewpoint of the PLA, tasked with defending a railroad station for at least six minutes at one of the villages the player liberated in the last mission. The first wave of enemies will be NATO Assault soldiers. The next wave will be the same as the first, but with two HMMWVs supporting the NATO soldiers. The third wave will be a UH-60 Black Hawk with soldiers paratrooping down from the helicopter to the player's position. The fourth wave is exactly the same as the third wave. The fifth wave will have NATO soldiers supported by two T-90s. The next and last wave will once again have enemies jumping off two Black Hawks down to the railroad station. When the six minutes have passed, the player will get a warning that the NATO have took control of a nearby train full of explosives and that it will destroy the railroad station at the right spot if nothing is done about it. The player must now destroy the train before it reaches the railroad station. When the train is destroyed, the mission is complete.

Stars[]

To achieve a full 10-star rating, the player will need to complete the following milestones by the end of the mission:

  • Score: 125,000 points or more
  • Time: Completion in under seven minutes
  • Style/Weapon Use (amount of hot-swapping): Expert (about 10 hot-swaps)
  • Accuracy: Greater than 50% shots hit
  • Losses: Less than 15 soldiers on the player's team died
