Terni Armored Car IRL

A Terni Armored Car during World War I

The FIAT-Terni “Tripoli”, also known as armored car Terni, “FIAT” or “FIAT Tripoli Libya”, was an armored car used in colonial areas controlled by the Royal Italian Army at the end of World War I and during the interwar period. It was developed at the Terni steelworks of OTO in 1918. However, the northern Italian front was not favorable for armored cars. At the end of the conflict, the general staff emitted specifications for an armored car intended for use in the colonies. These were put into service at the end of the war and stayed so until early 1942.[1]

Battlefield 1[]

This item has a Codex entry: Terni Armored Car

The F.T Armored Car is a vehicle featured in Battlefield 1. It is the armored car of the Kingdom of Italy and United States of America factions. The vehicle can carry up to five occupants, one of which being the driver without any weaponry at disposal while driving, merely being able to sound the car horn. A gunner (second seat) operates the heavy MG turret with 360° coverage, while the passenger seat and the two back seats are both equipped with light MGs to cover the front and left/right sides of the car respectively, as such the only rear defense lies with the top turret.

All passengers are protected from personal harm by the vehicle's light armor. The vehicle itself can repel small-arms fire, but is vulnerable to heavy MG fire, armor-piercing weapons such as K-Bullet and Spiked Club, and explosives such as the Anti-Tank Grenade, Dynamite, AT Rocket Gun, and Limpet Charge.

Trivia[]

  • Despite being exclusively found on European maps, its codex image depicts it in a Middle Eastern environment, with a desert camouflage that is currently unused in the game. Even more strangely, despite being exclusively used by the Allied Powers, the codex image car is marked with the Imperial German Army insignia.
