The Marlin Model 336 is an American lever-action hunting rifle developed by Marlin Firearms. First produced in 1948, the Model 336 is a further development of Marlin's Model 36 rifle, adding side ejection and a flat top reciever, allowing for easier use of rifle scopes compared to its contemporaries. It is most commonly offered with a 24-inch barrel and chambered for the .30-30 Winchester cartridge.
The Model 336 remains popular into the present day; the Model 336 Dark Series is a modernization of the rifle incorporating a threaded muzzle, an XS lever rail with Ghost Ring Sights, and an enlarged loop lever with a matte black parkerized finish.
A customized Model 336 Dark Series appears in Battlefield 2042 as the GVT 45-70. The name refers to .45-70 Government cartridge, implying the weapon has been modified to fire .45-70 rounds.
