"Active Component brigades of the US Marines are deploying toward a key dam site in the Saudi desert, intent upon control of this strategic location. To counter the threat, MEC forces are advancing their own mobile brigades to blunt the US spearhead. This rough desert terrain contains a mix of terrain types, requiring the utmost in tactical flexibility by both US and MEC soldiers. The ultimate objective of both sides in this battle is to gain control of the entire Kubra Dam sector."

Kubra Dam is a map featured in Battlefield 2.

It is one of two maps to not have singleplayer support with the release of Battlefield 2, the other being Mashtuur City.

Overview[]

Air support is available to both teams, except for on the 16-player version of the map. It is recommended for players to use kits with weaponry suitable for close quarters as much of the map's main combat zones will be in tight, confined spaces.

The Vehicle Drops for each team differ by the size of the map; see the sections for details.

16-player version[]

"This is a Conquest: Double assault map. You reduce opponent’s tickets by holding more than half of the control points on the map. You win by capturing all control points or by reducing the opponent’s tickets to zero."

— Game Mode Briefing

Combat takes place around the dam itself and is mostly done by infantry and armor. A transport helicopter is available once a central control point is captured, but it is of little use given the small area of the map. On this version, the vehicle drop for the USMC is the HMMWV, while for the MEC it is the Vodnik.

The default number of tickets is 100 for both sides.

Construction Site[]

The USMC starting point located on the east of the map. It spawns two Artillery pieces, the Radar Station and the UAV Trailer. Additionally, it will spawn two HMMWV, a Stinger, a TOW, and an M1A2. If this falls to the MEC, it will spawn two Vodniks, an IGLA, a HJ-8, but no tank.

Lower Dam[]

A neutral control point located on the lower part of the dam. When captured, for the US it will spawn a LAV-25, a Stinger, a TOW, a Black Hawk, and a HMMWV. For the MEC, it will spawn a BTR-90, an IGLA, a HJ-8, a Mi-17 and a Vodnik.

Upper Dam[]

A neutral control point located on top of the dam, on a platform between two destroyable bridges. It spawns no vehicles for either side.

Power Station[]

The MEC starting point located on the west of the map. It spawns two Artillery pieces, the Radar Station and the UAV Trailer. Additionally, it will spawn two Vodniks, an IGLA, a HJ-8 and two T-90. If this falls to the USMC, it will spawn two HMMWV, a Stinger, a TOW, but no tank.

32-player version[]

"This is a Conquest: Assault map. The force that causes the opponent's tickets to reach zero wins. The defending force can reduce the attacking force’s tickets gradually by holding all of the control points on the map. The attacking force can gradually reduce the defending force’s tickets by holding all of the control points on the map."

— Game Mode Briefing

This version vastly expands the borders of the combat area and adds air support for both sides. On this version, the vehicle drop for the USMC is the DPV, while for the MEC it is the FAV.

The default number of tickets is 220 for the USMC and 200 for the MEC.
