For the series of shotguns by the same name, see Saiga.

The Saiga .308 is a variant of the Saiga semi-automatic rifle series developed in the 1990s by Mikhail Kalashnikov, and produced by Izhmash. Saiga rifles are a sport version of the AK-series rifles, and are marketed for hunting and civilian use. They are sometimes referred to as "Saiga Sporters". As the name suggests, the rifle is chambered for the .308 Winchester cartridge, also known as the 7.62x51mm NATO.

Battlefield Hardline[]

"The Saiga family of semi-automatic rifles are a sport version of the AK-series rifles, intended for hunting and civilian use. This rifle mitigates some recoil, allowing for faster follow-up shots."

— In-game description

The Saiga .308 is a semi-automatic sniper rifle featured in Battlefield Hardline. It is a purchasable primary weapon for the Professional kit. It is equipped with a TA 648 and Flash Hider by default. Its recoil is very light and the weapon is easy to control, but its damage is the lowest out of all of the semi-automatic sniper rifles, limiting its effectiveness to close ranges.

  • During the June beta, the icon of the SKS from Battlefield 4 served as a placeholder icon for the Saiga .308, although the Saiga had a distinct model during the beta.
