The Type 100 was a Japanese flamethrower inspired by contemporary European flamethrowers. Japanese observers during World War I noted the effectiveness of flamethrowers against fortifications and trenches, similar to those which had proven difficult to defeat during the Russo-Japanese war of 1904. Based upon those European designs, the Type 93 flamethrower entered service in 1933 during the Second Sino-Japanese war. Reliability issues in cold weather led to a redesign, which was designated the Type 100.

In the Battlefield Vietnam World War II Mod, the Type 100 Flame Thrower is a flamethrower issued to the Japanese Imperial Army's Flamethrower kit. The weapon has 100 "rounds" of ammunition, and has no refills in reserve, though it will be automatically refilled when the player is near an Ammunition Box. It has a limited range, and the flames it fires acts very similarly to the Napalm of the base game. It is most effective against infantry on ground, as it kills fast and can dispose a group of enemies quickly. It can also be used against enemies in water, though the flames will naturally not settle. The flamethrower can damage vehicles, and is effective against light vehicles like half-tracks and cars.
It is statistically identical to its American counterpart, the M2-2 Flame Thrower.
