Razor's Edge is a map featured in the Battlefield 1: Apocalypse expansion.[1] It is one of two maps designed exclusively for aerial combat, the other being London Calling. It is a remake of the first chapter Test Flight of the singleplayer war story Friends In High Places.
Overview[]
Razor's Edge takes place somewhere in the Alps mountain range. Snow-covered peaks, clouded in rising mist, are visible in all directions, with one large mountain in particular dominating the center of the play area, splitting the map in two with its high faces. A low sun hangs in the sky to the east, potentially dazzling pilots heading in that direction. The mountain valleys are littered with crevices containing burning wrecks.
The central mountain range is the main obstacle to fliers on this map, and can be used to break pursuit. There is no altitude floor to the map, allowing pilots to swoop into valleys and potentially crash into the ground. A ceiling limit is present, however, preventing players from ascending too highly. The map boundaries result in a roughly square play area.
The British team spawn on the northern side of the map, while the Germans spawn on the south side.
Air Assault[]
The version of Air Assault playable on Razor's Edge is reminiscent of Team Deathmatch, where pilots must achieve a set number of aerial kills to win the round. 10 points are awarded per kill with the goal of reaching 400 points total, or 40 kills, before the other team. Teams are restricted to single-seat fighters only.

Trivia[]
- The internal name for this map in Community Test Environment is MP_Alps.
- This map along with with other maps from Apocalypse were publicly trialed in the Community Test Environment with a "white box" prototype texture like the one seen in Operation Outbreak in Battlefield 4 and four maps from Battlefield 1: Turning Tides.
- The character Neebs from Battlefield Friends can be heard screaming on the map, triggered by unknown conditions.[2]
