KOUROU, FRENCH GUIANA.
Once a shining example of international cooperation and goodwill. After years of instability throughout the region the facility was completely abandoned. But since the Blackout of 2040, America's need for a launch site has triggered a quiet return to operations.
The Americans race to complete their launch, or risk the tech falling into Russian hands. The Russians are determined to stop the launch by any means necessary. The site has been evacuated, and the military presence builds as the automated countdown continues.
