Flynn to Marlowe upon saving him

Flynn (Callsign: 'Ghost Rider') is a character in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Role

Flynn is the helicopter pilot who flies the Bad Company to their missions in the course of this story. At first he is at odds with Haggard, who calls him a "fucking muffin headed liberal-ass hippie." Flynn does have a certain hippie demeanor, often commenting on things being bad for his karma and requesting cigarettes from Haggard. He is a skilled pilot showing at one point he can easily dodge RPGs. He claims to be a "pacifist" and doesn't engage in combat with his helicopter until his final appearance, when he guns down several gunmen threatening the squad. Almost immediately after, Flynn is shot down with a Javelin and captured.

Trivia

  • Flynn and Haggard apparently become good friends through the story.
  • Flynn was a pacifist till the last mission he appears in before his death, where he saves Preston by shooting a soldier that was about to stab him, and later in the mission engages several Russian soldiers with his helicopter, much to the squad's surprise.
  • He dies saving you and your squad.
  • His last words are referenced in the achievement "Thanks for the smokes, brother!"
  • In the intro to "Heart of Darkness", Flynn dodges an RPG, saying that they're "easy to dodge 'cause they swerve everywhere. Now if it was a Javelin, then I'd have to do something real fancy." The chopper is later shot down by a Javelin.
