I honestly don't think that a Call of Duty player that is a late bloomer to Battlefield is the best reviewer to rate it. Pedro9basket (talk) Trusted User 15:30, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

Are you sure that is true? And if it is, by the same token a BF fanatic isn't the best person to rate it either. TheDocRichtofen (Talk) 15:41, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
You didn't quite got what I meant. Neither DICE's or the community's desires are to make Battlefield similar to Call of Duty (as they've said publicly) and when a Call of Duty gamer takes a review, most likely he'll enjoy it more if it's more similar to CoD, which is a bit against the dev's and their community's desire. Do you get my point? (no need of a fanboy to review it either). Pedro9basket (talk) Trusted User 16:07, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
Yes I do, I don't think you get what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that just because a player from a game series different to this one comes over, plays it rates it positively, does not mean that the game is a failure in the developers eyes. Infact if this event is to happen it is a good thing, as it means they are pulling new customers into their games. TheDocRichtofen (Talk) 17:11, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
Now I get to see what you exactly meant, and another type of gamer is indeed a factor to consider when a franchise tries to take competition with the big title. However, when I wrote my first statement, my consideration was that his opinion may not match of the core community for not being used to games which the dev's mentality (in BF2) was, and I quote, play like we want or play something else. But this really a is a re-thinking of it for this game (to let it be easier to newcomers), and I get to agree with you on that point. Pedro9basket (talk) Trusted User 17:22, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
Fair enough then. I think its important for the dev's to adapt to allow for new users. BF3 needed/needs to do that to have any hope of completing its task which EA and DICE have mentioned so many times. TheDocRichtofen (Talk) 17:42, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
