Shotgun Choke IRL

A Shotgun Choke in reality

A choke is a tapered constriction of a shotgun barrel's bore at the muzzle end and is used to increase the range and overall performance of the weapon. This is done by shaping the spread of the shot in order to gain better range and accuracy. For shooting most game birds and clay pigeons, a desirable pattern is one that is as large as possible while being dense enough to ensure multiple hits on the target. Shotguns intended for defensive use often have cylinder or improved cylinder chokes for the widest shot pattern at typically short defensive ranges.[1]

Battlefield 4[]

"Significantly tightens the shot spread for improved Accuracy, but has penalties for Stability and Hip Fire as well. Not recommended with Slugs."

— Battlelog description

The Full Choke is a weapon attachment featured in Battlefield 4. It tightens the spread of buckshot or flechettes, significantly more than the Modified Choke and standard barrel. As with any shotgun choke, it adds an increase to recoil and worsens hipfire spread.

Battlefield 1[]

While not appearing by name, Hunter variants for Shotguns in Battlefield 1 have a choke resembling the Full Choke applied to them, increasing the range of shotguns.[2]

Battlefield V[]

CHOKE is a weapon specialization featured in Battlefield V for shotguns. It adds a full choke to a players shotgun. This causes the tightness of a shotguns pellet distribution to increase.
