The Waffen-SS (German: Waffen-Schutzstaffel; English: Armed Protective Squadron) were the armed wing of the Schutzstaffel, an organ of the German Nazi Party. Generally known as the elite forces of the German military, it was a land-based force whose duties generally varied in conventional warfare to special requests ordered by high-ranking officers and leaders. They had 38 Divisions and even armored vehicles. SS troops were usually brutal, never taking prisoners. They were also in charge of most of the concetration camps.

In Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII, the Waffen-SS is a new playable faction. Compared to the Wehrmacht and Afrika Korps, the SS is issued more effective, varying and advanced weaponry and vehicles, as well as camouflaged uniforms. They fight against the Special Air Service and the United States Army.
