German Elite Forces

The German Elite Forces are a playable Axis faction introduced with Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII. They represent an unspecified elite unit of the Third Reich's Wehrmacht, taking cues from the real life Fallschirmjäger and Waffen-SS units.

Battlefield 1942

In Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII, the German Elite Forces are a new playable Axis faction. Compared to the Wehrmacht and Afrika Korps, the Elite Forces are issued more effective, varying and advanced weaponry and vehicles, as well as camouflaged uniforms. They fight against the British Commandos and the United States Army.

Kits

The German Elite Forces kits use equipment similar to their Wehrmacht counterparts, but utilize more advanced weapons like the Gewehr 43 semi-automatic sniper rifle, Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 battle rifle, and Rifle Grenades. As well, all kits are issued five Commando Knives, which can be thrown at enemies as well as used for melee attacks.

Appearance wise, the Elites wear grey-olive camouflage uniforms on urban maps like Raid on Agheila or Kbely Airfield. On snowy maps, they don grey-white camouflage along with black gloves. Like the Wehrmacht, all kits wear grey Stahlhelms with a reichsadler present on the sides, with the exception of the Medic who instead has red crosses on his helmet.

Vehicles

Their vehicles are mostly the same as the Wehrmacht, but wholly indigenous and with several additions introduced with the expansion.On urban maps like Kbely Airfield and Essen their vehicles have the same grey camouflages as Wehrmacht's,on snowy maps like Hellendoorn their vehicles are again with grey camouflages but covered with snow,while on desert maps like Raid on Agheila their vehicles have desert camouflages,just like Afrika Korps'.
