Insurgent Forces

Insurgent Forces (Arabic قوات المتمردين) are a fictional faction in Battlefield 2: Special Forces. They are Middle Eastern insurgents, very similar to a modern, self-sufficient paramilitary groups. The insurgents largely use Middle Eastern Coalition weapons and tech, with a few exceptions. The files list them as Meinsurgent (contrary to the rebels, who are labeled as Chinsurgent).

Battlefield 2: Special Forces[]

In Battlefield 2: Special Forces, Insurgent Forces fight the British Special Air Service for control of a decommissioned airport in Night Flight and defend the palace of an Insurgent commander in Warlord.

Equipment[]

The Insurgents use identical equipment to the base game MEC, with the exception of the rocket launcher, which is a RPG-7 instead of the ERYX.

Appearance wise, the Insurgents are the only faction in the game not to wear gloves. Armored troops are equipped with a Green Body Armor and a blue shirt. The light troops instead wear a white shirt and backpack.

Vehicles used[]

Similar to the MEC from base Battlefield 2, the insurgents use Russian-made equipment.

The Insurgents have the smallest array of vehicles of any faction in Battlefield 2. They do not have any aircraft or naval vehicles.

Trivia[]

They are the only faction in Battlefield 2 in which the soldiers do not wear gloves.
They are also the only faction to never operate any aircraft. Despite this, the Insurgent kit mesh file Kits\MEInsurgent\meshes\meinsurgent_kits.skinnedmesh contains models of Insurgent pilot equipment, complete with textures.
