— Chaffin addressing Montes in Operation Swordbreaker.
Private Jackson/Jack Chaffin is a character featured in the singleplayer campaign of Battlefield 3.
Biography[]
Jackson Chaffin is an American Marine from Blackburn's squad, Misfit 1-3. Not much else is known about him, but David Montes describes him as "a tough son of a bitch".
Chaffin was hit by a PLR sniper during the mission, Operation Swordbreaker, however, Henry Blackburn managed to drag him out of the firefight.
He is kept stable while Misfit 1-3 pursues the PLR forces, including the sniper. He was later carried out of the area by a medical team headed by Doc Holiday, from which Blackburn and his squad provided covering fire from a rooftop. It is unknown what happened to him, but it is presumed he recovered from his injuries.
Trivia[]
- Chaffin's leg and body models (but not arms) are the same models seen in first-person view as Miller and Blackburn, as well as when playing the US team in multiplayer.
- If one goes the other way after using a plank as a bridge and jump from building to building, and go inside a garage, Chaffin will be visible, alive and well, holding an M4A1 w/ ACOG scope. Sometimes, however, he may not have any weapon at all but hold his hands in position as if he did.
- In real life, there is a Corporal James Chaffin from the same battalion. He is featured in the HBO series Generation Kill.
