Overview BF1

Knives return in various forms as melee weapons in Battlefield 1. As with Battlefield Hardline, a selection of other melee weapons is also available, including hand tools, clubs, and the swords.

All knives share the same statistics, except the Sawtooth Knife which functions similar to heavy melee weapons. Knives have a damage output of 35 and a speed rating of 90. Knives also have the largest takedown range of all melee weapons.

Takedowns[edit | edit source]

Takedowns occur any time that a melee weapon would inflict lethal damage on an opponent, although rear and prone takedowns can be performed on enemies at any health. Melee weapons inflict less damage to enemies facing the player, but may still result in a takedown.

Standing/Crouching Front The attacker stabs the target in the heart, grabs their shoulder with their left hand, and drives the knife deeper with a second thrust.
Left The attacker stabs the target in the ribs and pulls out. As the target drops their weapon and reaches for the injury, the attacker punches them in the face.
Right The attacker grabs the target's shoulder and stabs their heart. The attacker twists the knife, more so than for the front animation.
