The Lone German Soldier is a minor character featured in the Battlefield 1 singleplayer level Storm of Steel.

Biography[]

The Imperial German Army soldier is one of two survivors of the massive artillery barrage towards the end of the mission, the other being the American Narrator. As the dazed Narrator pulls himself from the mud he notices the Lone German doing the same, and trains his rifle on him - the bewildered German responds in kind. After a moment of tense standoff however, the German gradually lowers his weapon, with his would-be opponent breathing a sigh of relief. The two shoulder arms, left standing alone amidst a pile of bodies, just as the clouds part and cracks of sunlight stream across the battlefield.

This scene between unnamed German and US soldiers is immortalised in a statue in London seen as the beginning of Battlefield V.
