The 21 cm Mörser 16 was a German heavy howitzer produced by Krupp between 1916-1918. It saw use by German forces during World War I and World War II until 1940, when it was replaced by Mörser 18.
Mörser 16 appears in Battlefield 1 as an unusable stationary weapon both in singleplayer and multiplayer, sometimes serving as a mission objective.
Battlefield 1[]
Mörser 16 appears both in campaing and multiplayer portion of the game.
Singleplayer[]
Mörser 16 serves as a main mission objective in Over the Top level of Through Mud and Blood campaign. Several howitzers have to be destroyed by the player in order to secure the village. After Black Bess is trapped by the German tank hunters, Townsend sends a pigeon with an artillery strike request. After the British artillerymen receive the message, they fire three Mörser 16s at Bess' coordinates.
The howitzer also appears in other campaigns except Avanti Savoia! as a stationary object. In Young Men's Work segment of Nothing Is Written one Mörser 16 is seen shooting at British tanks in a distance. It can be neutralized by killing the gunner, however, the gun itself cannot be used by the player nor destroyed.
Multiplayer[]
Mörser 16 appears in many multiplayer maps as a decoration. Both the gun and its carriage can be seen.
