Mörser 18 in real life
The 21 cm Mörser 18 was a German heavy howitzer produced by Krupp between 1939 and 1945. It was developed as a replacement for an obsolete WW1-era Mörser 16 and saw service during World War II in Wehrmacht artillery batteries and coastal defence units.
Mörser 18 appears extensively in Battlefield V, either as a mission objective and usable stationary weapon, or as a static prop.
Battlefield V[]
Mörser 18 appears in singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the game, as well as in cooperative Combined Arms gamemode.
Singleplayer[]
Mörser 18 appears as a mission objective in The Last Tiger, where two US-operated cannons have to be destroyed by the player.
Combined Arms[]
Mörser 18s serve as a basic mission objectives in all Destroy levels. Player(s) are tasked to blow up three German Mörsers to complete the level.
Multiplayer[]
Mörser 18 cannons are a standard objective in Airborne gamemode in Grand Operations. Attackers are tasked with destroying the guns, while the defenders have to protect them. Mörser 18s in Airborne gamemode are usable by the players - defending team's members can interact with the gun to fire it in direction of enemy soldiers and get credited with kills. Players, however, cannot aim the cannon - the artillery will only strike the spotted enemies. Otherwise, the projectile will fall in random location at a playable area. The cannon takes several seconds to reload. When it's ready to fire, the barrel will be aimed upwards.
Mörser 18s sometimes also serve as a mission objectives in Rush and Frontlines gamemodes, however, unlike in Airborne, they are no longer available for use by players.
Mörser 18s also appear on several maps as an unusable static prop, either intact or destroyed.
