In Battlefield 2042, the Minigun appears on many vehicles as a weapon system, often as a default gunner weapon station. The system must be unlocked for gunners on the EBAA Wildcat and main battle tanks.

Mounted Miniguns are the default pilot weapon on the MD540, and Minigun Pods are provided to both gunners on both air transports.

Despite a high rate of fire, effective use is limited to close infantry targets. Modest damage can be inflicted against light-armored vehicles.
