The MP7 is a Tier Two submachine gun in Battlefield 2 and the default weapon for the SASEngineer in Battlefield 2: Special Forces. It possesses both automatic and semi-automatic fire modes, with a relatively high rate of fire at 900RPM. Its damage is average for the submachine guns and its spread values are, like the other submachine guns, are slightly above-average. However, it does have a fairly high magazine size at 40 rounds.
When the weapon is unlocked, the top left-hand corner of the unlock image shows the icon of the Medic kit rather than the Engineer kit. The image with the erroneous icon can be found in mods\bf2\Objects\Weapons\Handheld\sasrif_mp7\info\unlockIcon.png. An image with the Engineer icon can be found in the folder of Battlefield 2: Special Forces, in mods\xpack\Menu_client.zip\External\FlashMenu\images\objects\Weapons\Handheld\sasrif_mp7\info\unlockIcon.png, but is not seen in the game.
