Maria Falck is a Support specialist featured in Battlefield 2042.
Profile[]
Birthdate // April 20th, 1984 (58 years old)
Birth Location // Cologne, Germany
Spoken Languages // Native German, English
Nationality // German
Personal History[]
Growing up, Falck was driven to study medicine after watching her father lose his battle with cancer. The early 2000s conflicts in the Middle East curtailed her education, causing her to enlist in the German Army where she trained as a combat medic. After tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, she returned home and was assigned to the Rapid Forces Division where she took part in many joint missions with European allies.
Despite a highly decorated career, Falck decided to retire from the army and finish her studies. She eventually graduated to become a respected trauma surgeon in one of Cologne's most prestigious hospitals.
Single but eager to start a family, Falck underwent IVF to have a child. Her chances of success were low, but she persevered and after numerous rounds over many months she finally conceived and gave birth to her son, David. Happy and fulfilled in her life and career, she could only watch as the rest of the world sunk into chaos. She did her best to shield her son from the unfolding horror of war and environmental devastation, but when Germany collapsed, she had no choice but to teach her child how to protect himself.
At 18, David joined one of Germany's few remaining militia forces. Despite her fears, Falck gave her blessing as her son fought to rebuild his country. But two years into his deployment, he was reported missing in action. Distraught, Falck refused to believe David was dead and finding him became her only goal. She spent any money she had following leads and paying for information, but it was hopeless.
That was until she received an anonymous communication that David was alive. The source was Non-Patriated. Falck's only hope of locating him meant joining the No-Pats. There was intel a No-Pat ship named the Exodus was currently traveling the Rhine - rumor had it they were recruiting. Falck knew a ship like that could always use a surgeon.

Specialty[]
— In-game description
Falck is equipped with the S21 Syrette Pistol as her specialty gadget. It allows her to fire a syrette at teammates to heal them. If the user misses a shot, the syringe will land on the ground and can be picked up by both friendly and enemy players.[1] Compared to the Med Pen, syrettes are quicker to activate, but heal at a slower rate.
By holding Specialty Gadget, the player adjusts the syrette pistol for self-administration, healing to full health in one shot. The player may also choose to fire a shot at a nearby surface to pick up, which is admittedly faster than using the self-heal feature.
The Syrette Pistol can also be used in an offensive manner, inflicting 20 damage on enemy targets with each hit.[2]
A red dot sight is mounted to the pistol. The syrettes have considerable drop over distance. Up to six rounds can be held in the pistol at any time. Rounds will be replenished after a short cooldown.
Trait[]
— In-game description
Falck comes with Combat Surgeon as her trait. Unlike Angel and Irish, it allows her to revive all downed teammates to full health with higher speed than any other.

Trivia[]
- The S21 Syrette Pistol may echo a gadget previously cut from Battlefield 2142, the Healgun.
- The S21 Syrette Pistol originally was able to revive teammates from a distance. This was changed after the Technical Playtest.[4]
- When self-healing, Falck adjusts the pistol to a lower setting.
