The Ministry of State Security of the People's Republic of China (MSS) (Chinese: 中华人民共和国国家安全部 Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghéguó Guójiā Ānquánbù) is the security agency of the People's Republic of China, responsible for counter-intelligence, foreign intelligence and political security. It is headquartered in Beijing.

In Battlefield 4: Countdown to War, Chan is working as an informant for the MSS. She works as a secretary at the United States Consulate in Shanghai, though this is simply a cover in order to gather intelligence.
