Flag of the Kingdom of Norway

Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, is a Nordic European country whose core territory comprises the western and northernmost portion of the Scandinavian Peninsula. The modern nation has existed since 1905 after dissolution of its union with Sweden. The country remained neutral in World War II, but joined the Allies after it was invaded and occupied by Nazi Germany in 1940. The country was liberated following the end of World War II in 1945.

While not a member of the European Union, it maintains close ties with the organisation and was a founder member of the United Nations and NATO.

Appearances[]

Battlefield 1942[]

The map Telemark Research Base added with the Battlefield 1942 expansion pack Secret Weapons of WWII is set in Norway, and depicts a British Commando raid on the German-occupied heavy water production facility found there. The Norwegian resistance are explicitly mentioned in the map debriefing as having provided the intelligence for the raid.

Battlefield V[]

Norway features prominently in Battlefield V as both a singleplayer and multiplayer location. A single Norwegian weapon, the Krag-Jørgensen, is available for use in both modes.

Singleplayer[]

The war story Nordlys takes place in Rjukan, Norway in 1943. It follows Norwegian Resistance members Solveig and her mother Astrid, discovering and attempting to sabotage the German atomic bomb project by preventing the manufacture and export of heavy water.

Multiplayer[]

The multiplayer maps Narvik and Fjell 652 are the setting of the associated Fall of Norway Grand Operation, depicting British landings around the port city in 1940 in an attempt to drive out German occupiers.

Released in Tides of War Chapter Four: Defying The Odds, Lofoten Islands is set during British commando raid on the Norwegian archipelago in 1941.

Halvøy is a map set in a fictional region of Norway available for the Firestorm battle royale gamemode. The peninsula has been occupied by the secretive research organization of Sulis, and is presumably being used as a testing ground for the experimental "firestorm" weapon.
