Obliteration is a new game mode set to appear in the multiplayer of Battlefield 4. It was first revealed in a leak of the game's Alpha files but was officially revealed exactly two months later at Gamescom 2013.
Gameplay
Each team holds three targets, and is tasked with defending them while trying to destroy the other team's targets. However, there is only one bomb at any given time, which forces both teams to fight for control over it. Furthermore, the bomb spawns in random locations, requiring quick reactions and territory control in order for victory to be achieved.
The bomb package resembles that carried by an enemy throughout the level "Comrades" in Battlefield 3. The bomb emits a periodic beep and red strobe, the latter of which clearly illuminates the bomb carrier's view in first-person view. As in Capture the Flag, the bomb's location is displayed to all players, and its status is displayed as a title in the upper-third of the screen.
