Operation Flaming Dart is a map featured in Battlefield Vietnam. It is loosely based on the real Operation Flaming Dart 1, which was a U.S Air Force and Vietnam Air Force military operation which escalated the Vietnam War after several attacks on U.S. bases by the Vietcong.

Description

"February 7, 1965 - After attacks on U.S. bases, President Johnson orders airstrikes against barracks near Dong Hoi. Operation Flaming Dart I and Flaming Dart II were meant as a message to the North to cease hostilities in the South. In February of 1965, the U.S. Air Force and Vietnam Air Force dropped massive amounts of bombs and on the first day alone, dropped 25 tons in 30 minutes."

Conquest

Operation Flaming Dart can be considered an attempted Amphibious Assault map, as the ARVN are attempting a Sea and Air map, the ARVN has mostly Air/Sea support (and tank support once the capture the mainland). While the NVA has mostly Tank superiority (alongside Mobile AA), the South Vietnamese have a numerical advantage in the Air.
