The M45 Quadmount, also known as the "meat chopper" & "Krautmower" for its high rate of fire, was a weapon mounting made up of two pairs of four "HB," or "heavy barrel,".50 caliber M2 Browning machine guns positioned on each side of an open-structure, electrically operated turret. It was created by the W. L. Maxson Corporation of New York to replace the earlier M33 twin mount (also from Maxson). Although intended as an anti-aircraft weapon, it was also utilized against ground targets. It was first used in the US in 1943 during World War II and was still in use during the Vietnam War (where US troop presence ended in 1973).

"Quad 0.50 MG is a static machine gun emplacement with 4 powerful cannons. A 360 degree rotation and a thick bullet shield make it a great option for clearing the skies of enemy targets."

— 1.2 patch notes

In Battlefield Vietnam, the Quad 0.50 MG is a static machine gun emplacement used by US and South Vietnamese forces, spawning at the main bases on a number of maps. It was added in patch 1.2.

The emplacement is primarily used for anti-aircraft purposes, but can also be used against infantry and light vehicles at close range. The user can rotate 360° when operating the emplacement, and is protected by a bullet shield. The weapon has a total of 400 rounds, but as there are no reloads, one needs to aim carefully when firing at aircraft.

The weapon suffers from overheating; every round fired adds 4% heat to the weapon, and when completely overheated, it takes 2 seconds before being able to fire again. When the weapon is not being fired, heat reduces by 30% per second.

The Quad 0.50 MG also appears mounted on the M35A1 Nancy.
