Quick Time Events (sometimes abbreviated as QTEs) are a new gameplay feature of the Battlefield series, first appearing in Battlefield 3.
Gameplay
Quick Time Events are scripted actions or events that produce various outcomes depending on the player. In order to succeed, the player needs to press the button that appears on the screen, if they fail to do so, the character may die or it would result in a mission failure.

In the latest game developed by DICE, Quick Time Events are available in Single Player and Co-op. Although, they have a greater presence in Single Player. Most of this Quick Time Events are close-combat encounters[1], hand-to-hand combat[2], or surprising attacks[3]. These Quick Time Events provide an additional challenge to the gameplay, as there are approximately 15 Quick Time Events scattered throughout the Single Player campaign, with the hand-to-hand combat with Solomon being the longest and most crucial of all.
