The RM277 is a bullpup rifle originally developed by General Dynamics, to then be developed by LoneStar Future Weapons for the United States Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon, although losing to SIG MCX Spear in a result. The weapon is chambered in 6.8mm TVCM, a polymer-cased cartridge developed by True Velocity.

"Using 6.8mm polymer cased ammo, this integrally suppressed Assault Rifle boasts high accuracy thanks to increased barrel length."

— In-game description

The RM68 is a weapon featured in Battlefield 2042, introduced in Eleventh Hour season. Player can unlock by reaching tier 40 in the Battle Pass and by completing assignments afterwards.

By default, the RM68 comes pre-equipped with a unique CCN Suppressor Brake, a TV 2X optic, and integrally attached and irremovable Canted Ironsights, and as such cannot mount any other dual sights.

It performs well as a versatile assault rifle due to a decent fire rate and a solid damage over range. It can handle closer range firefights due to a relatively fast fire rate and a consistent 4-5 shot kill up until 40 meters, depending on ammo type. Afterwards, the RM68 maintains a 5-6 shot kill until a 150 meters, with a 6 shot kill occurring only when shooting extremities, such as the arms or legs, or if using Close Combat ammunition. Past 150 meters, however, it falls short with a 18 damage to the body, but this is not limiting its ranged capabilities.

The weapon comes with a 20 rounds standard magazine, with an option of upgrading to 30 rounds magazines and being able to switch between High-Power and Close Combat, Both give the user an edge at the ranges they are supposed to be used in. Regardless, the base rate of fire from these rounds struggle at closer ranges against SMGs and faster assault rifles without any external modifications.

Its suppressor is completely unique to the gun. On top of the benefits of them, the CCN Suppressor Brake acts as a combination of both the suppressors and the Champion Muzzle Brake, decreasing its vertical recoil climb but also its accuracy, which appears to not hinder the ranged potential of the gun. It may also be swapped out with other muzzles including the muzzle brakes and compensators seen on other weapons.

The RM68 also has a unique Shortened Barrel suppressor, boosting the fire rate to at least 690 RPM regardless of ammo type.
