Battlefield 2042[]
The RPG-7 and RPG-7V2 are shoulder-fired missiles featured in Battlefield 2042. They were initial only available in the Battlefield Portal for the BC2 and BF3 Engineer kits and function in a similar manner as their counterparts in prior titles. The RPG-7V2 became available for the 2042 Engineer Specialists in Season 5: New Dawn.
For RPG-7V2 in the base game, it is unlocked by obtaining 30 kills or assists with the RPG-7V2 in BF3 Portal or with the Recoilless M5 as well as inflicting 750 damage on enemy vehicles with should-launched missiles, while RPG-7 in BC2 Portal is not counted, although its Mastery Badge is indeed equipped with a scope.
The RPG-7 from Battlefield: Bad Company 2 maintains its ability to lock on to and seek Tracer Dart Gun tags, also equipped with a scope, while the RPG-7V2 from Battlefield 3 remains a dumbfire rocket. However, the RPG-7V2 in 2042 base game can seek Tracer Dart Gun tags too.
It should be pointed out that unlike CG M5, the scale line of BC2 RPG-7's telescopic sight is not accurate, and hardly support long-range firing (e.g. 500 meter scale line corresponds to the actual distance of 190 meters).
Normally, RPG-7V2 in base game and RPG-7 in BC2 Portal cause 35 damage to ground armored vehicles from front (25 to MAV, 67 to EBLC-Ram's rear), while RPG-7V2 in BF3 Portal causes lower damage than SMAW. The starting ammunition for these three types of RPGs are 2 rounds.
However, due to unknown reasons, at least in BC2 Portal, when the RPG hits enemy armor tagged by the Tracer Dart Gun, it will deal a lower damage that is simliar to the M136 AT4.[1]

Trivia[]
- The inscription on both RPG-7 and RPG-7V2 is "РПГ-7В1", translating to "RPG-7V1".
- The rocket ammunition loaded for launcher lacks the propellant powder and stabilize fins, while the fired rocket correctly has fins present.
