The RPL-20 (Russian: Ручной Пулемёт Ленточный Ruchnoj Pulemyot Lentochnyj; English: Light Machine Gun Belt) is a prototype light machine gun developed by Kalashnikov Concern. Designed from the ground up, the weapon aims to serve as squad automatic weapon for suppressive fire with higher rate of fire than RPK-16. The weapon used 5.45×39mm cartridge.

The RPT-31 is a weapon featured in Battlefield 2042, introduced in Eleventh Hour season. Player can unlock by reaching tier 22 in the Battle Pass. Afterwards, player can unlock through completing assignments.
This weapon has both high damage and high firing rate, making it the fastest time to kill in the category. It also has the fastest reload speed among base game LMGs.
As a balance, the vertical recoil of the RPT-31 is significantly higher than other machine guns, resulting in lower controllability. However, this defect can be compensated for by Bipod and other attachments. At the same time, the 28 damage per bullet provided by High-Power ammunition can only be maintained within 30 meters, which is not as good as the LCMG (28 within 50 meters) and limits its long-range combat capabilities.
